Moyai-kan (Minamata-city Moyai Naoshi Center)
The Moyai-kan was built as a base for recovering the Minamata and Ashikita areas, exchanging “Moyai naoshi (fixing a mooring)” to repair the bond of the local residents, and healthcare and public welfare services as part of solutions for Minamata disease. It is a facility that focuses on communication between people, serving as a base of Minamata in many ways by opening student-initiated courses such as ceramic art, pressed flowers, dance, and holding concerts and many other events.
